Dead Winter is an interesting take on the Zombie comic genre where the zombies often take a sharp background to what is going on with the main characters. The tale begins following Lizzie Cooper in her daily life of being a waitress and leading to how she is a pivotal player once the zombie outbreak occurs. You are also soon introduced to Black Monday Blues. Psychotic killer for hire? Clearly these two are going to get along wonderfully.

It’s a little dark, a little black comedy, and a little action all rolled into one! It really is a story about people trying to survive instead of just there being a zombie outbreak. Character development is key in the series and you really get a sense of whose fun to be around and whose… well insane. It’s a fun read and not one you’ll be doing too quickly so I suggest checking it out.
