Zombieland Rakes in $25 Million Opening Weekend
This brings me both hope and fear. Hope that this will become a trend with the release of more quality zombie themed movies that actually have a budget going for them. Zombieland was truly a masterpiece in action, horror, and humor as shown in both our first review of Zombieland as well as our second! It really just is a good time all the way through and a fun flick to watch. The fear? That comes from the horrible under budgeted zombie movies that COULD happen. Now, as a zombie fanatic I’m of course well versed in all things undead on a low budget. It works well. The problem is the slew of ‘zombie comedies’ that could rise up with no star power, budget, OR actual comedy. Anytime a movie is a hit there are always a slew of fluff flicks hoping to emulate the style of the movie and make a little extra but this is one of those genres where hopefully it will not be done with. Only time will tell!
