Happy Turkey Day.. erm.. Thanksgiving!
(Image courtesy of Byron Rempel from The Daily Zombie and I Draw Zombies who I am completely indebted to for such a quick and great job!)
Today is a great day of thanks across the United States, for those of you outside the country I do apologize as you may not be interested but I shall indulge myself a bit. It’s not often I get to become a little sidetracked on the site and actually ramble on things that are not directly undead here.
First I would like to give thanks for each and every one of you- Buy Zombie’s readers. Without you the blog would not be getting the traffic and response that it has. From sending e-mails in thanks, hints and tips on articles, following us on Facebook, talking to us on Twitter, YOU are what has raised our love of the undead to an entirely new level! A year ago I would have never imagined the site growing as it has and I PROMISE the new, more eye pleasing and user friendly layout is in the works. (One you can actually comment on articles in again as well!) Thank you. You really have helped encourage me to keep Buy Zombie going and push forward as well.
Secondly I would like to thank every writer, director, actor, publisher, distributor, event organizer, artist, etc who have taken the time to speak with Buy Zombie. It’s your time, information review copies, offers for interviews that have all helped the site expand with news “fresh from the grave” and for giving a smaller site a chance to really shine. It’s also YOUR work that keeps us all coming back for more and everyone should be thanking you for the twisted worlds you have created for us to explore.
Special Thanks to CONTRIBUTORS of Buy Zombie:
(If I thank every FRIEND of Buy Zombie this would take hours to write and I need to leave in 30 minutes. So, only those who contribute get in here!)
Well I have to give my first set of thanks to Rick Rick Romanowski of Paradise of Horror who has become both Buy Zombie’s first full time reviewer as well as a good friend of mine. From talking online to meeting up at movie fests to always getting reviews ready- Rick is just a great guy to have on your team.
BJ-C of Day of the Woman has contributed to Buy Zombie indirectly with post ideas, pointing us towards a certain zombie short, and has just been an all around supporter of the site who is always open for having ideas bounced off of her when I need to brainstorm.
Bryan Schuessler has also been a supporter of Buy Zombie, unofficial contributor, and all around good guy to know who was the first person I think that really helped me fit into the Chicago Horror community.
Erin Rose Tollefsen for designing and letting me use the “3 Zombie Stories” logo that I just do not use enough but when I do looks fantastic. Also she has helped with designing quite a few things in the background zombie wise for the site and I appreciate every pixel of it all!
Eric Nyszczot, who has no website to call his own but works on many and who I have known since I was in high school. He is currently helping me fix the mess of code that is the upcoming Buy Zombie and is the one to thank for when the new site is in place.
Special Thanks to Horror Sites We Are Semi-Associated With:
Ok I’m going to do a three for one right off the bat- Zombie Command, Zombies & Toys, and Send More Cops. You three are my main ‘competition’ in the style of format we use for our zombie news blogs and I’ve been glad to talk to all three of you on and off. It’s been really great to get to know my fellow fanatics and am glad we all actually get along. Some horror niches will do nothing but fight but each of you go out of your way to be helpful and good sites with a great staff. I salute you!
I can’t mention thanks to websites and not bring up Horror Society as I do live in Chicago. Not only is it a great site on it’s own for horror news, reviews, and articles but Mitch- Thank you for always trying to get film festivals going in the city. As you know I try to make them all and really I don’t know if you get enough thanks from all of those who show up but everyone I talk to really is grateful for what you do.
Well that’s it. Thanks to everyone above, and I KNOW I’ve missed contributors (who I apologize greatly to, I was up late and in kind of a hurry) and more. You may feel free to yell at me and I’ll add you in!
