Day 31 (2010)
REVIEW: Day 31
Considering that I do not have any feature length movies to review I decided to take it upon myself and watch a few short zombie movies. I made my way to Day 31, which is about Kyle, a man who is trying to survive after a deadly viral outbreak that turns the dead into living things. He writes in a diary and he chronicles his journey as he tries to find other survivors. Honestly, this was a very well made movie and well worth the 10 minutes.
The plot of this short is so simple and I think that’s my only problem with this short is that it’s way to basic. I wished that there was a bigger conflict going on but I guess it’s good for what it is. I really enjoyed the progression of the story and how he went from the forest to a rural road. It kept my interest at every point. I really liked the character and I would like to see more of his story because it leaves so much room for development. Since the end is a bit of a cliffhanger, as the voice over told, I want to see where this ends up.
Personally, Charlie Goldberg is a good director and he knows his zombie movies and his character and all I can say is… I want to see more. A lot more.
