TIME Interviewed George A. Romero!
Recently we just did a huge post entitled The Romero Roundup which was a full on collection of interviews with George A. Romero from around the web. While I was going to pass on doing any more posts of interviews with the King of the Undead I figured this one just had to be done because hell, IT’S TIME MAGAZINE! Seriously, how cool is that? Granted it was write in questions that they did but even so it’s a fun read for great little tidbits like this:
Chad Benky, PERTH, AUSTRALIA:Do you concern yourself with the critical reception of your films?
Romero:I don’t get particularly concerned about it. Mine was sort of a baptism by fire. When we made Night of the Living Dead, we got riddled. There was this famous article Roger Ebert wrote just blasting the film because he had gone to see it at some screening where there were all these kids in the audience. I don’t know why that happened. We didn’t make the movie for kids.
