Resident Evil Fan Films
So this is a project that has been gaining steam and with Resident Evil taking place in an Earth infected with zombies one we have to talk about! While we won’t know how it actually looks until Halloween of this year we can only hope they do well.
So what is Resident Evil Fan Films about? GEE – Resident Evil films made by fans of the series. Sepcifically by a film student (Jerome Chagnon) at the Art Institutes of California San Francisco in Digital Film and Video Production who loves the Resident Evil franchise and is basing his senior project to be created within this universe.
They have 2 key points they stress on highlighitng about this film (probably to avoid any copyright issues as they give full credit to the characters to Capcom at every turn) and so what are these 2 points?
- Let’s make it clear right here: I am not going to sell my movies.
- They are made as student projects and will be released for free on Internet.
What are we seeing first?
On Halloween 2010 we get to see a 30 second to 3 minute trailer based on what they are making for the film and will have an edited version for us to enjoy. Ideally this will thanb e turned into their first film.
We have more to look forward to!
Aside from the film itself that is in the works they also have a short film (8-12 films) entitled Patient Zero (Resident Evil not Joe Ledger universe) that is based off one of his friend’s ideas. It will involve Albert Wesker and Ada Wong who, for anyone that follows Resident Evil, are characters that are easy to recognize.
Honestly we won’t know much until we can actually see how it looks and the actors do but these is a lot of evidence we have something to look forward to. The pre-trailer that teases us with the direction they are going and how the actors look just shows nothing but potential!
