Nearly 60% of the ghd UK public are quite comfortable with owning and buying counterfeit products, clothes, bags, sunglasses and watches being the most common. And recently disreputable online traders have begun trading in fake brand name electrical goods like ghd straighteners. There are several more serious consequences of buying fake electrical goods than there is to say buying a fake pair of designer shoes. With fake shoes you might end up with wet feet, with fake ghd straighteners… you can end up severely injured or worse.Authentic ghd stylers as sold by online retailers like ghd-ukand exclusive brands are manufactured by ghd to the highest possible standards, with quality control and checked to conform to British and European standards. And for an item that heats up to several hundred degrees Celsius in a matter of seconds, you can imagine how important it is they are made to the highest levels of quality.Fake ghd straighteners are, on the other hand made from sub standard and shoddily put together components. In non controlled or regulated workshops and are not subject to ANY safety checking or quality control. Each time you switch them on and put them to your head, you are potentially risking sever injury that could leave you scarred for life. And that’s if you even get the straighteners you order. The fake ghd stylers are created and distributed by large criminal organisations, mostly based in the Far East. They often take your money and you have little or no recourse to get your cash ghd Hair Straighteners back if the item you order doesn’t arrive. And what are worse these unscrupulous criminals are often quite happy to collect all your personal details, credit card numbers and send you your stylers. Then using your details and card numbers to steal your identity and sell it on to other parties around the world, help fund other criminal activities and potentially leaving your bank account empty and a credit history in tatters. If you are unfortunate enough to buy these fake ghd hair straighteners, you will be left with irons with no warranty, ghd will not give you the time of day and no legitimate service engineer will repair them if they develop a ghd IV styler fault. How to spot the sale of fake ghd stylers and their advertisersIf it sounds too good to be true it is.If they are selling limited edition stylers from several years ago, gold bag, dark and pure, kiss pink etc are all out of stock. There are the odd few in salons or in private hands but no online retailer has large numbers and those that are available are sold at large mark up from the original price. So if they are selling them at bargain prices, odds are that they are fakes. If they are advertised as 70% off or other crazy claim they’ll be fakes. If they are under ?80, forget it, no one sells them that cheap. If they are selling them on eBay be careful, check seller’s rep and again unless they are second hand no one will sell them less than retail unless they are fake.Look for the wet products. All legitimate authorised online retailers sell a wide range of ghd shampoo, conditioners, hairspray and other products and not just stylers and straighteners. No UK customer service or phone number. This is a common sign of fake sites.Only accept PayPal. This is the big danger sign. No legitimate authorised retailer ONLY uses PayPal for payment. They will use payment platforms like WorldPay or similar professional service. PayPal is sometimes offered as a secondary payment platform but never the only one. Look upon these sites with doubt.Look for the GHD Approved box on legitimate websites. Check the date and time on the ghd approved online retailer box and click it to check the authorised retailer seal is genuine. And if in doubt buy straighteners directly from ghd direct. With any luck, if you follow the simple ideas in this article you will avoid getting stuck with subpar fake ghd straighteners.
