In New Jersey Oct 30th 2010? New Jersey Zombie Walk!

Contending for the Zombie Walk throne for the Guinness Book World Record the New Jersey Zombie Walk is going to be having a slew of of fun events happening throughout a full day of activities!

About The New Jersey Zombie Walk

The New Jersey Zombie Walk will take place in downtown Asbury Park over Halloween weekend on October 30th, 2010. The
Walk will be Asbury’s finale for the Halloween season this year and everyone is invited to join together in an effort to promote
thrills, chills and laughter throughout the community. Zombies of all ages will be welcomed to participate in this family-friendly
event. Best of all, the Zombie Walk is completely free!
Last year the Zombie Walk brought in over 1,500 participants and this year we’re aiming to more than double attendance by
adding even more to our day-long schedule of festivities. In addition to the walk, there will zombie-themed events and
entertainment throughout the day to encourage people from all over the Tri-State area to come, stay and play in Asbury Park all
day long. Downtown Cookman Avenue will be closed off and a stage will be erected to host a variety of music acts and
performances including a group “Thriller” dance, Jello-brain eating contests and costume pageants.
Also new this year, the New Jersey Zombie Walk is introducing its first “ZombieCon”, a convention dedicated to all things horror
and zombie. In addition to costuming and makeup supplies, the ZombieCon will feature local artists, film makers, musicians,
shops and horror-related organizations with the goal of promoting local and independent artists and merchants. After the zombie
events are over the after-parties begin! Zombies can opt to march down to the Boardwalk to attend a Halloween Dance Party at
Convention Hall. Simultaneously, Asbury Lanes will also be hosting a Halloween Carnival (for those 18 and up) with a horrorthemed
line-up of bands and performers to be showcased. Tickets for both events will be available to Zombie Walk participants at
a discounted price! Adding to the community-driven atmosphere, many of Asbury’s popular restaurants and shops will also be
offering up Zombie-themed menus, dinner specials and discounts to all Zombie Walk participants. Zombie Walk participants will
be identified by a wristband.

When and Where

A Zombie “Base Camp” will be set up at 11:00am on Saturday, October 30th in Asbury Park Convention Hall. All participants will arrive
here to get a wristband and get into costume. Once checked in attendants are free to roam the ZombieCon vendors area. A team of
professional make-up artists will be on hand to give demonstrations and assist in giving complete zombie makeovers for a nominal fee of
$20. This year the New Jersey Zombie Walk has once again partnered with the Central Jersey Blood Center of Shrewsbury as a way to give
back to the local community. A mobile blood bank will be on site during the event, accepting donations throughout the day.
At exactly 5:00pm, the Zombie Walk will begin! Zombies will pour out of the Base Camp and up on to the Boardwalk. They will begin
lurching down the Boardwalk, towards the Carousel House. From there, they will turn and head up Cookman Avenue, turning down side
streets, walking down Main Street and back down Cookman Avenue to Press Plaza. When the walk is over, Zombies will be free to join in
more festivities throughout the downtown and boardwalk areas.
