By this of course I mean that The Walking Dead’s Writing Staff Has Been Fired
Fired? Yes apparently the entire writing staff for The Walking Dead was let go. At the time I am starting this (last night now) it’s already infecting the horror sites around the net as the truth and it’s rare that Deadline is ever wrong on this kind of thing. Apparently The Walking Dead’s producer/director. The man whose movies I tend to love, Frank Darabont, has fired the entire writing staff of The Walking Dead’s TV show – including his writing executive producer Charles “Chic†Eglee.
So a full 12-15 episode season working with just freelance writers is how this sounds it is going to end up. I have a feeling we’re going to end up hearing more about it in the near future as that seems like too little of information for such a big change to the series. With over 5 million viewers watching this clearly ins’t something that will just be randomly chosen and it’s hard to imagine they would fire the entire writing staff that has so many people currently hooked on the show.
I don’t know really. On the one hand the writing staff is clearly who is supposed to be putting the show together. On the other hand Frank wrote the first 2 and co-write the next 4 episodes? With 2 of the next 4 having non-staff members being the other co-writers. I guess we’ll see what happens though if this in any way jeopardizes my new favorite show on TV I’ll be very unhappy.
