The Walking Dead Season Finale Takes A Bite Out Of TV Ratings

TS-19 brought the first season of The Walking Dead to the close. The show we have all mostly fallen in love with has ended it’s first season with almost every episode bringing in record breaking numbers. So what you really have to wonder is how did the final episode stack up to the first five? Well let’s take a look at the numbers shall we?

The FINAL episode brought in over six million viewers in it’s first showing which has officially made it the most watched drama series episode in history in the United States. Did I mention that was the first showing? If you factor in the 2 encore showings it was actually viewed 8.1 MILLION TIMES in it’s first night. That’s probably not quite as may zombies that currently exist in The Walking Dead’s universe but it’s an extremely impressive number when it comes to TV ratings for a season finale that surprisingly didn’t leave us with a cliffhanger as most of the series (as well as most of AMC’s series’) are known for. Sure it’s a clear “to be continued” moment but it’s not an overly painful year wait that we have to suffer through.
