Zombie Hood January Update
Steve Best, the writer and director of Zombie Hood, wrote in to give us a few updates on the film!
Pre-Production has lasted so long that I can’t even remember when we first started the ball rolling. The good news is though, we start filming this month with one of the hottest, wettest and scariest scenes in the film. Without giving too much away, the scene features Lauren Marie and Steve Askey and is being directed by Melanie Tighe and Ewa Kowalski. Then during February, we really start to get busy, filming the night club scenes and also the music video with local band ‘In Isolation’! The rest of the interior scenes will follow soon after, building up to filming all of the exterior shots when the weather decides to get better and the white stuff finally leaves the UK for good this winter.
Having decided against filming on DV tape using the same recording equipment used on 28 Days Later, we are now pushing the boundaries by filming on DSLR equipment as we go all out for a true cinematic feel. Our cinematography and sound team will certainly have their work cut out, especially as they’ll be recording the sound separately, but we believe that the extra work required will be well worth it.
This month also sees Zombie School taking place in Nottingham. With hundreds of potential zombies joining us on 15th January for a day of lurching, lurching and more lurching, we’re really excited at the prospect of seeing everyone performing and learning what it takes to be a Zombie Hood member of the undead hoard!
And finally, we’re currently in discussion as to whether open ‘aPint Film Productions’ up as a public limited company. This would obviously mean that the main cast members and the crew will be given shares, but they’ll also be available to the general public and extras as well. More information to follow…
great addition to the gore mania! cant wait for it to be released.
Their short film was pretty fantastic so hoping the full length one they are coming up with will blow it away!
