Woody Harrelson isn’t sure on Zombieland 2
Total Film recently interviewed Woody Harrelson on his thoughts on Zombieland 2. While this sounds like it’s an interview our entire audience can’t wait to read once you get a few words into it – you get worried. Now I really hope that Woody was just fucking with the writers at Total Film, it’s something I could see him doing, but if not I’m extremely worried.
On the first movie, he said: “I didn’t even want to read the script… Then as it turns out, I read the script and I thought it was phenomenal, really funny…”
“Usually, if I theoretically reject it, I’m right, but this one I was dead wrong. And it might be the first movie I do a sequel to.”
When we asked if the follow-up is definitely happening, Harrelson told us: “I’m sure it will happen if everyone does it, but I’m not sure it’s the right thing to do.”
“It’s one thing to do it when it came out real good and it made a lot of people laugh, but then to do a sequel… 99 out of 100 are worse by a lot. So I don’t know.”
“I don’t feel like a sequels guy.”

As much as I love Zombieland, I find myself understanding Harrelson’s apprehension to embark on a second adventure. A movie like this is great the first time around because you rarely come across a production that is quasi-horror and quasi-comedy relative to zombie pop culture. It was a refreshing twist on an already exhausted plot-line of end of the world scenarios. Now the question is whether or not it will have that effect as the first one did, or fall way short of it’s predecessor? I’m leaning toward the latter.
Right now, I think the Walking Dead is doing a solid job of keeping things fresh by making the zombies more of a backdrop than a focal point in the story. If you want the latest updates on the show, check out The Walking Dead News.
