Christmas With The Dead Film Update
We previously told you that Christmas With The Dead was being turned into a film and now we have some more details on the film that is being made! I can only hope that they find a way to combine one of my favorite holidays with my favorite zombies on the big screen AND have it come out in a December.
New York (February 21st, 2011) – Brad Maule (General Hospital, 7th Heaven) and Kasey Lansdale (country singer and daughter of the legendary author in her feature debut) have joined the cast of upcoming Joe R. Lansdale zombie opus CHRISTMAS WITH THE DEAD, the film adaptation of the author’s holiday tale. The film, which is currently in pre-production, will begin shooting this June in Texas and centers around Calvin (played by Damian Maffei) who after years of dealing with loneliness, the grief of losing his family, and zombies… Decides it’s Christmas Eve.
You can begin filling your stockings in April at the 30th anniversary of the I-Con convention in Stony Brook, NY, where the author, actors Damian Maffei and Kasey Lansdale, and Special Effects artist Marcus Koch will be in attendance as guests talking about the upcoming production. Convention goers will also be given a chance to enter the “Win a zombie makeover!†contest where those lucky winners will be transformed into shambling, pus filled convention attendees, courtesy of Marcus Koch and Oddtopsy FX.
I-Con takes place April 15th – 17th. Other celebrity guests include Thomas Jane (The Mist, The Punisher, co- RAW Studios Founder), Julie Benz (Dexter, Rambo), artist Tim Bradstreet (The Punisher, Hellblazer, co-RAW Studios founder), and scores of other professionals in the film, comics, and literary industries.
