Patient Zero Seeks Crowd Sourced Funding
Patient Zero (not based on the novel) is a new zombie film that’s in the works and needs a bit more capital to make itself a reality. The film’s creator, Rob Sholty, reached out to us in hopes of getting a bit of added exposure and I know a few people out there have shown interest in helping zombie films become a reality so I wanted to make sure to let you all know about this one. It’s got some fun donation goodies as well! (Someone donate a thousand in my name if you’re feeling saucy, I could use an associate producer title!)
About the film:
Patient Zero is an independent horror film about the origins of the zombie virus. Erik Woods is a struggling waiter trying to get by. After becoming completely broke, he sees an ad in the paper for a new clinical trial for an experimental anti-biotic targeted at people who smoke. The drug is meant to attack dead cells in the body and regenerate new ones. After taking the drugs he starts to feel incredible but soon starts to become very ill as his body starts to deteriorate. He starts to develop a taste for raw meat and other unusual side effects. He begins to realize things are going wrong but he continues to take the drug. Soon enough he turns into something he never imagined. The first person to start the epidemic. The zombie epidemic. He is Patient Zero.
The Production:
We are going into pre-production from now till principal photography which will begin in October. Our team is filled with many passionate filmmakers all dedicating their time to make this come to life. Throughout our process you can keep updated on the film’s progress as well as behind the scenes from preproduction to shooting to editing, which will be posted on our Facebook fan page.
Where the money will go:
We want to shoot this film as raw as possible. We are saving a lot of money in the fact that we have a lot of the film gear necessary to shoot this film. There are some things that we really need to make this film, but do not have the necessary resources to do so. Sound is very important to us so we are hiring a professional sound mixer on set. We are also using it for makeup, special effects, blood, wardrobe, food, props, and all the other little things that we need to make this film happen.
Thank you for posting this! I know its late, but we didn’t see this blog post about the film. Thank you so much!
Happy to spread the word 🙂
