In Arbutus, MD on Oct 30th 2011? Zombie Apocalypse Arbutus Walk
To benefit the Arbutus volunteer fire department and The Baltimore Animal and Rescure Care Shelter (BARCS) there s going to be a Zombie Apocalypse (Walk) sponsored by Universal Comics. It’s got 2 great causes to donate towards and are using zombies to do so! (My own monster of a dog is from a Rescue Organization and I fully support what a lot of them do.)
The above image is why I totally support pet rescues. Before we got the Ali Monster she went from a house that apparently she got shot with a BB at (not sure for how long), to a shelter, to a kill shelter, to the rescue house, to us. She was just over 2 years old at the time and the most skiddish dog you’ve ever seen. Now, as you can tell by the picture, she’s not only well behaved (when she’s not being a monster) but helps to get rid of the evidence! Wait! I mean…. .erm…. she’s adorable! That’s it. Look how nicely she lines her bones up….
Aside from the woman in my life and family and close friends she’s the best thing on this planet. Going home after work with her not there would suck. So… I’m all for giving pets another chance through rescue shelters and if you are in the area and able to support them AND get a zombie walk in at the same time you should absolutely do it!
Sorry on the preachyness of the post I’ll stop that part here and get on with the details.
We will be having music, food, games, costume contest, raffles, and a zombie walk. All Proceeds to benefit the Arbutus VFD and the Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter (BARCS).
RULES:
1) NO ALCOHOL!
This is a dry event! alcohol and/or public intoxication will not be tolerated.
2) BE COURTEOUS TO OTHERS!
Don’t harass or touch anyone who doesn’t want to be involved. Remember that dressing funny doesn’t give you a right to act like a jackass.
3) ABSOLUTELY NO VIOLENCE OR VANDALISM!
Zombie walks should be fun, peaceful events where the dead come back to be silly and weird. They are NOT excuses to run around in destructive mobs.
4) NO MOOP!
Don’t leave any messes that need to be cleaned up. No bloody hand prints on anyone’s property or empty makeup/blood packaging or other litter scattered around. Refer back to rule #2.
5) STAY ON THE SIDEWALK!
Stay out of the way of moving vehicles. You should have learned this about the same time you learned to walk.
6) HAVE FUN!
But try not to do anything stupid that will ruin the fun for everyone else.We are raffling off a box of zombie goodies to include but not limited to: graphic novels, dvd, a t-shirt and zombie games
