Zombie Hood September Update

Another month has arrived and another month of updates from a film we are eagerly looking forward to – Zombie Hood!

This month has been mianly planning and shooting for this English film. While it’s been mainly planning they have 2 more scenes finished for everyone to enjoy (not that we can see them quite yet) and had 2 new characters come aboard for their part of the film. (AWESOME Spoiler: They have at least one child zombie in the film. The ultimate of creepiness. I don’t know about you but kids scare the hell out of me by themselves, make them zombies? Gah!)

They are also still taking some casting calls for zombies so if you are in England you may want to look into if you can get to one of their shoots!

…I wonder if I can get someone in the film to wear a Buy Zombie shirt.. hrmm…

August was a month full of planning and spreadsheets. We have finally found the majority of locations and are currently in the middle of a continuous shooting schedule that takes us right up until December. So every weekend will see us fighting with the elements as England’s rubbish weather throws thunderstorms and gale force wind at us no doubt.

It hasn’t all been boring organising since our last update though; we have two more scenes in the can. The first took place over two weekends and saw our new Dermott really get to grips with his role. Not only did we have our shiny new Dermott, but we were introduced to the characters of David and Claire. It’s always fun to bring new blood to the shoots and our actors certainly brought the laughs, with the worst case of giggles Zombie Hood has ever witnessed. For the first time in our filming history we actually reached double figures for takes. But it wasn’t all laughs, we have our equally creepy moments too, some may even say terrifying but you’ll have to wait and see. But there was lots of fun with bloody hand prints, bite wounds, a zombie and lots of black treacle.

Last weekend saw the crew battle with the wind, dog walkers and football players to shoot Rik and Candi’s introduction to Dermott. It was a chaotic shoot to say the least but as always our cast provided great performances all round and it’s great to see the lead characters finally interacting. We also had a kiddie zombie, so cute and yet disturbing at the same time. It’s great to see all the different age ranges that are excited to be a zombie. We want to say a massive thank you to everyone that participated on the last shoot. It was cold and windy and the fake blood is never comfortable so thanks so much for persevering and never complaining. We really do appreciate the time people give up to help us.

We are always looking for new zombies so if you want to be a part of a zombie horde then please email [email protected] . Those who are already registered please make sure you are checking your spam folders and that you have our address saved in your contacts. A lot of emails are bouncing back to us and we know many people are eager to be a part of the film.

The plot for those who haven’t been following our updates:

Zombie Hood begins on the eve of a worldwide zombie outbreak with a small group of survivors escaping the city. After gathering in a nearby forest and with food being in short supply, the survivors must risk visiting populated areas in an effort to stave off starvation. With a child and an elderly man in tow and with the undead waiting at every turn, the group attempt to put aside their differences as they battle to survive a nightmare scenario.
