Sarah Jones’ Zombie Bride Cake

Cake artistry and special effects makeup come together in the most amazing ways at the hand of artist Sarah Jones. For the fourth year running, she’s won the top prize in her division (this year it’s Professional) at the Tennessee Valley Fair with Zombie Bride — and she nailed the prize even after having to remove the non-edible veil and brooch. Though she doesn’t do horror cakes exclusively, Zombie Bride is one of several gory confections from Sarah, including Zombie Parton (previously featured
here on BZ, along with an interview with Sarah) and Dead Man’s Farm,
last year’s winner at the Tennesee Valley Fair.

Zombie Bride was inspired by the Haunted Hayride of Horror in Lenoir City, TN, where Sarah creates ghouls with special effects makeup. If you’re in Tennessee (or are looking to road trip to some good Halloween haunts this year), check out this hayride-slash-haunted house attraction that transports visitors into a real-life horror movie, then stop by nearby Dead Man’s Farm , the inspiration for last year’s cake, where, depending on the night, you also might find one of Sarah’s creations popping out at you in the dark.
