Zombieland To Return On Television?
There have been a LOT of rumors that Zombieland would not be returning for a sequel. First off Woddy Harrelson said he probably wouldn’t return and later on Jesse Eisenberg said the same thing. Follow that up with Ruben Fleischer, Zombieland’s director, saying Zombieland 2 wouldn’t happen. All of these people are crushing our hopes but Fox knows a cash cow when they see it and between The Walking Dead and the box office and DVD numbers appear to have green lit a television show!
The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that it’s coming out. It’s being written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (who did write the film and the original pitch for the show before it became a film) so we’ll at least have a hopefully solid story to continue on with. It looks as if they are having it run for a half hour show (which is a shame as it would work better as an hour.) One thing I’m hoping that they’ll do is a Zombie Kill Of The Week. It’d be really fitting for them to continue on that in the series. My other thing I’m hoping as it’s by Fox is that it will be on FX and not Fox itself so we don’t have to worry about any pesky censorship issues.
