Remaining Days is a triumphant follow-up to Aaron’s first EP: Run For Your Life
(released January 26, 2011).

Sit back, close your eyes, and imagine what life would be like if you were to survive a zombie apocalypse. Would you be distrustful of those you once thought to be friends? Would you prefer to travel alone, unwilling to risk losing the few remaining items you possess? Would your life seem meaningless, empty, void of love and emotion?

Now, open your eyes and imagine all of these emotions and thoughts expressed in thought provoking lyrics accompanied by gripping and mesmerizing instrumentals. Aaron Stoqueart has masterfully created Remaining Days to capture each preconceived emotion. He will take you on a walk through the woods on a bright moonlit night, full of wonder, intrigue, and possibilities. When you are least expecting it, he will pierce your heart with loneliness and desolation.

The lyrics of track five, Dog Days , “where did you run to/ my best friend I miss you/ I wish the best for you/ I want the days we had” speaks of a friendship/love that has grown cold and barren. The sadness and loss is then overshadowed by the whimsical, playful, and melancholy spirit of the next track, Lock For You. Testament to Aaron’s talented diversity!

Good stuff. Between this and Chris Keihne, zombie folk is becoming one of my favorite genres.
