So Deck of the Living Dead is the latest zombie Kickstarter project that we’ve been shown so far. The cards they’ve shown off so far have a pretty solid style to them. While I prefer a slightly crisper style I do have to say I like what I’m seeing and hope they get the funding to move forward and get an actual product out there. Of course we’re always pro-zombie here but still figure people would enjoy this one here. So contributors start at $2 and the next set up is $20 (which includes 2 decks) and goes from there! If you are interested just read on.

ABOUT THIS PROJECT

We are looking to fund the printing of the Deck of the living Dead. We have had the design and artwork for the deck done for some time, but the funds to produce it have been elusive. This deck is the latest from Bent Castle Workshops a tiny independent publisher (mainly Chris Pallace and Ben Crenshaw) who, up until this point, has been able to self fund their labors of love.

The cards will come in sets of 2 decks. Each set has a deck with black backs and a deck with corpse green backs. Both decks have the same faces.

Here is the king of hearts. Note that he is still the “suicide king”. All standard deck features have been retained. We have also designed the deck with 4 oversized indexes so it’s easy to use for both right and left handed players.

The aces are ornate iron cemetery gates. The number cards continue that theme and incorporate the unique suit icons we developed for this deck.

One other feature unique to Bent Castle decks are the X cards. Both this deck and our Pegleg Pete’s deck of Royal Rogues have them. They are four extra cards, one for each suit, that can be used as you wish. Use them as wild cards in classic games. Make-up new games. Substitute them for other cards, like 8’s – so crazy eights becomes crazy reapers. Or use one as a reveal in your favorite card trick.
