With The Walking Dead eating through all of the competition on the TV front you’d have to wonder how it’s doing on the comic front where it’s undead pages have swarmed over comic shop selves and into our hearts. Realistically? It’s the king of the zombies so it’s interesting to see other zombie comics that come out, specially when they are coming from the same publisher as The Walking Dead.
Right now Image is working on putting together a mini-series known as Rebel Blood.
Described as a different kind of zombie tale, Rossmo’s “Rebel Blood” not only finds its human characters infected, but also the animals. The book’s hero is a forest ranger named Chuck Neville who misses the first wave of the infection and has to figure out how he feels about his wife while journeying to save her.
So it’s a love story with zombies and zombie animals? Zombie animals aren’t used too often but are really kind of terrifying as they would be seen, most likely, trying to eat us as well as their own kind. Most animals tend to be a little faster then your average human so even if the zombies in this series are slow (no idea if slow or fast) the animals in theory would still be quicker. Lots of ways this could be played off and I’m interested in taking a look!
