It is NOT A FACT that World War Z is going to be a trilogy. The film isn’t out. No one knows how sales will be. There isn’t a confirmation on a sequel. No one has a clue if there’s going to be a trilogy. No official announcement has been made. All of that and the Internet is swimming with a rumor that Paramont has actually been dumping all off this money into the film to make a trilogy. So where has this rumor spring from?
Well Brad Pitt, in an interview with The LA Times, had the following to say:
[Director Marc] Forster and Paramount Pictures each view “World War Z” as a trilogy that would have the grounded, gun-metal realism of, say, Damon’s Jason Bourne series tethered to the unsettling end-times vibe of AMC’s “The Walking Dead.”
So is Marc Forester mutilating some of the story elements because he’s having it spread across three movies? Is this all a pipe dream? I suppose we’ll know more on December 21st, 2012 when the film comes out!
