About two weeks ago we showed off the first Zombie Teaser Trailer. Well it looks like the fact that a movie being called Zombie is still being ignored as they move forward with the film. What they aren’t going to be able to ignore though is what Dread Central has recently let us know – someone in India owns the rights to the name “Zombie” for a zombie film.

(Again I believe we’re ignoring the fact that Zombi, or as usually titled Zombie, is a film that has already been released.)

The Hindustan Times has included an interview with Producer Siddhartha Jain of iRock Media (who is making the zomcom entitled Rock the Shaadi, another Indian zombie film) shows that he owns the rights. While he does own them he hasn’t said if he was willing to part with the name or not. Siddhartha has the following to say:

I was surprised to learn that Luke Kenny was making a film called Zombie. I own the title so I don’t know how he could have picked it up,” says Siddhartha “Only if I sign a No Objection Certificate (NOC) can Luke release his Zombie.”

Luke is trying to work things out amicably with Siddhartha to acquire the rights to the name.
