Oh The Walking Dead. The little zombie comic turned television show that could. Last year you did us all proud, bringing fresh life in the zombie genre.

In October when Season 2 premiered you hooked 7.3 million viewers in front of their seats to see what was going on with the current season. Between October and now how has the show faired? Some people may have complained there was not enough zombie scenes (though those that were on screen were amazing.) Some have felt the show has gone too slow (though they are trying to keep it in mainly ‘real time’ and let us see how they go on a daily basis.)

The people who have complained though cannot say much about the numbers though. The show’s ratings have gone up and nearly infected another million watchers. That’s right ladies and gentlemen – according to The Huffington Post The Walking Dead Season 2.5 started off with 8.1 million viewers. (Hey 800,000 new viewers rounded up is 1 million! My math wasn’t faulty!)

Now only did the viewer rate go up but it did so on a great episode. The start of the episode again fell to it’s habit of being slow on occasion. It made up for it in the end. There were two major events that happened at the end of season 2.5’s premiere and one is starting to put Rick on the path that will take him to the Rick Grimes we know in the comic. Mix that in with the people encountered and I think I can guess at a certain cannibalistic story line being done 2-3 seasons earlier then it should be. (The only reason I’m guessing that is from rumors of someone leaving the show early due to conflicts with Frank having left. Even if I’m wrong there I’m actively excited to see where this season is going!)
