We previously told you about the Bobbledead seeking funding. Unfortunately they did not raise their initial goal but they are still moving forward to create these fun little bobble head zombies. I missed these videos last week when I was out of town or would have shown it to you earlier. It does look that the production value is just going up and as we hear updates we will happily pass them on to you!
Our Story
Hi there! I’m Nate Courteau and I’ve been an independent special effects artist and sculptor since the early 90’s and if there’s one thing that I’ve learned in all my years, it’s that Zombies make the world go ’round!
I first designed the Bobble Dead back in 2006. I wanted to create a fun product that had instant appeal and a proven background. Well, Bobbleheads have been around since ancient China, and Zombies are not only back en vogue, but hotter than ever! So, after talking to various toy companies, I decided to launch the first wave independently, gauge the response and possibly sell the property to a manufacturer. But to do this, I need to fund a small run of each Bobble Dead, around 250 copies of each and that’s where YOU come in! YAY!
The Impact
Bobble Dead are part of a larger business model conceived by Nate Courteau and his business, n8-fx. Formerly Courteau Sculpture Studio, n8-fx supplies special makeup effects, props and sculpture to various industries and the ultimate goal is to help grow and sustain the local arts community through viable and ethical business practices.
What We Need & What You Get
I currently have three completed Bobble Dead prototype dolls, I’d love to have all three manufactured for sale, and it’s costs roughly $3000.00 each for a run of 250.
If this campaign is successful and indeed surpasses the initial goal, all of the additional money will go to production of the first three Bobble Dead dolls as well as improve and expand the Bobble Dead line, develop its web identity and promotions. If the initial goal is not reached with this campaign, the existing money will go into the production of the first one or two Bobble Dead dolls; and the proceeds from these will go into further production.
