Another week and another Kickstarter. This one’s getting some spotlight from us though as it’s closing in on it’s goal, looks cute, and is designed to help the younger generation learn about the zombie menace! It looks cute and it’s closing in on their goal. With 6 days left when I’m posting this they are well over 4/5th funded so anyone looking for a future book for their children (or themselves) this is one to check out!
About the book
Zach just wanted to be like every other red blooded American boy and go out to play ball with his friends. Today, however, he was unable to do just that. Why? There was a Zombie at Zach’s door! What is Zach to do? Will he ever get to play ball with his friends? Will he ever get out of the house again? Find out, when Zach meets the Zombie!!!
About The Authors
About a year ago I had an idea. Most of us would know what to do in the event of a monster attack. It’s our children that do not. The purpose of Meet the Monsters is to familiarize children with the most common monster types and learn their strengths and weaknesses.
The fun, “children’s book” format keeps this primer in the realm of “fiction†and will not alarm a child.
I had done a first draft idea of what I wanted the book to look like, but I knew I needed an artist (as you can see).
So I turned to the best artist I know, Rickman. After showing him what I had written, and explaining what I wanted to do, Rick was in all the way. Our only setback was real life, and having to worry about rent and food, and those other superficial things!
Rick quickly came back with some drawings and I knew I had the right man for the job! (See above, slightly better than mine, right?) Over the last few months I watched Zach come to life on paper. Now the only thing standing between Zach and the light of day, besides the zombie, is money!!
Didn’t you say Meet the ‘Monsters’?
Zach meets the Zombie is book 1 of 5 in the first series of Meet the Monsters. Our goal, once we get the ball rolling and hopefully receive funding, is to put out a new book as often as possible. The books after Zach include: Vinnie meets the Vampire, and Wesley meets the Werewolf. We are still working on the final two concepts. Our intention is to sell the books online and at comic and horror conventions, and, if possible, get them into the big book stores.
Why we need you guys!!!
We all know that the world isn’t the best place right now. The reality is that this project might never see the light of day. I think what we have is a great idea, and besides needing some backers to support this, we are also looking for some people to complete the journey with us! We want you at the conventions with us! We want you to tell your friends! We want you to proudly teach your children what to do if they come face to face with a monster!
Where is the money going?
We have a goal of 5000 dollars. This will cover the initial printing of 2000 books, as well as the swag we will be offering at conventions. That consists of T-shirts, stickers, post cards, and posters.
