Well filming on Zombie Hood sounds like it’s coming along quite nicely and they’ve got a decent sized update on where the film currently stands and what’s coming in the near future! (As well as a few images to enjoy!) Let’s take a look shall we?
So as promised this update is actually on time, and even in the brief time since the last one, there’s still been a lot happening in the world of Zombie Hood. We have shot some great little zombie scenes in the city centre over this Jubilee weekend. At 5am in the pouring rain our zombie hordes shuffled around the market square and various spots in the city centre. They were doused in fake blood and dragged across the floor and they didn’t complain once so a massive thank you to everyone that attended.
We also went back to Dogma on what was possibly the hottest day of the year and spent the entire day sweating in the basement filming a little extra scene. The shoot should tie in nicely with the scenes we have already filmed at the venue. It will also feature our first fully decapitated zombie which should look awesome once our extremely talented visual effects guy gets to work on it.
On the same afternoon the core cast were also assembled for our first promotional photo shoot. The branding team are working alongside some great artists/ designers to put together a series of movie posters and promotional images so keep your eyes peeled for the first designs in the upcoming months. It’s quite an exciting time as we head towards completion and look forward to our release. We only have one more shoot left and then production is completed on Zombie Hood. It’s been a long, long shooting process, but we have finally locked a final shoot date; Sunday 24th June. So now really is your last chance to be a part of Zombie Hood and be part of our zombie hoard in our very last scene.
It is an early one with another 5am start and we will be filming at 1 Castle Road Nottingham NG1 6AA, meeting by the Castle gates themselves. This is the big one; we want hundreds of you to make up one last terrifying crowd of creepy flesh eaters. All the zombies featured in this scene will be slow lurchers rather than the running manic zombies from the world of 28 Days Later, think old school Romero or Shaun of the Dead. If you want some tips feel free to watch our zombie school videos found on the tabs at the top of the page. If you are not already registered then please sign up by emailing zombies@zombiehood.co.uk and start spreading the word, we want as many of you as we can cram in!
Be as inventive as you like with your costume, but just remember anything you wear can and will most likely be covered with blood so don’t wear your Sunday best if you don’t want it stained.
Look forward to seeing you all on the 24th!
