We’ve been trying to keep Merle’s return someone spoiler free on our first 2 posts with him on set (see: here and here) but AMC has made an announcement of it on The Walking Dead’s official page so we’re happy to finally be able to talk about the 1 handed Marle’s return to the big screen! How’s this going to change Daryl’s view on things? Only time will tell!

Since being abandoned on a rooftop in Season 1, Merle Dixon has been the source of fervent fan speculation. (Where is he? Is he alive?) Today, AMC confirms that Merle (Michael Rooker) will return in The Walking Dead Season 3. Check out this first look at the character — sporting a new arm accessory — in The Walking Dead Season 3 Production Gallery, which also includes shots of Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), Michonne (Danai Gurira) and The Governor (David Morrissey).

  Absolute torture! They’ve been doing a great job so far and the ‘best’ (at least from all of my friends who have read the comics) story line is going to be this next season or two makes it even worse having to wait!
