It feels like every time I’ve wanted to post a casting update for ABC’s new zombie themed show ‘The Returned’ there was a new piece of casting. Well the most recent one tops anyone they’ve announced so far and probably anyone that they will be announcing soon so I’m running with this being the full cast.
At the very least it’s the full cast I care about because YEA OMAR EPPS IS IN IT! I’m a huge fan of Omar’s work so am completely excited to see him working with my favorite medium – zombies.
This drama is being partially produced by Brad Pitt’s Plan B. Looks like Mr. Pitt has been infected by the same love of the undead that all of we have been as well. The director is lined up to be Charles McDougall who did an absolutely fantastic job at ‘The Tudors’. With the director in mind and Omar Epps as one of the leads I’d be excited regardless of what it’s about.
So let me give you the breakdown of what the show is about first:

So we do have the dead coming back to life. Everything I’m reading around the Internet is claiming that this is a zombie series so we’ll run with it.
And now whose in it so far:
Omar Epps is playing Martin Bellamy whose a an agent with the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
The other leads will be Kurtwood Smith (the father on That 70’s Show) who plays Harold whose dead son played by Landon Gimenez is among those to have been returned.
Also starring in the show will be Matt Craven who is playing the local sheriff. Mark Hildreth whose done a ton of voice acting will be playing the town’s preacher. Nicholas Gonzalez will be one of the the sheriff’s patrolmen.
Really I’m just excited about Omar Epps being in anything again. He’s awesome so I want to see it.
