So, for those of you who don’t know, Free Comic Book Day is an annual promotion that takes place on the first Saturday of May. Publishers produce short, exclusive, one-shot comics to give out to participating stores, which then give them out for free to customers.
Well this year Robert Kirkman is participating. He’s written four short stories, each following a different character, and compiled them into a single volume which will be a part of the Free Comic Book Day festivities. You can even read a short interview with Mr. Kirkman about it right here. Apparently these will be entirely exclusive and will not be reprinted in any trade paperbacks or anything like that. So make sure to hit your local participating comic shop on May 4th and hit it early, because I’ve got a feeling that these won’t last very long at all.
If you’d like to know more about Free Comic Book Day, check this link out here. If you already know about it and want to see if there are any participating stores near you, just look to the left side of the screen and there’s a store finder right there.
If you’ve never actually read The Walking Dead (where have you been?) then you can get a digital copy of the very first issue here.
