Wait Resurrection is on .. what channel?

Wasn’t this called ‘The Returned’ for awhile? Yes.. Yes it was. At some point it was apparently changed to Resurrection, either that or The Returned was just a code name for the series.

So the thought of a zombie show being released on ABC had me worried. Yes, with the popularity of The Walking Dead people are going to attempt to mimic it’s success. Still though ABC and zombies? How can that go together.

Reading the description of Resurrection I couldn’t help but think that even while it has the dead returning to the living it has nothing that had to do with zombies. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again and that is I’m still of the opinion that Resurrection is NOT a zombie show (even while every entertainment/horror site out there has attached the Z word to it.)

So there’s no reason we should care right? Well the casting changed my mind on caring.

Omar Epps is starring in it and I don’t even have to read the rest of the casting because I was such a fan of his work in House M.D. that I’ll watch anything he’s in. Now toss in Kurtwood Smith who played the father on ‘That 70’s Show’ (and so much more) and I’m even more interested! So while there’s a good chance this show will officially not have anything to do with zombies regardless of what a lot of sites out there are saying I’m still going to do one last post on it because…. Omar Epps.

What’s Resurrection About?

The people of Arcadia, Missouri, are forever changed when their deceased loved ones suddenly start to return. An 8-year-old American boy (Landon Gimenez) wakes up alone in a rice paddy in a rural Chinese province with no idea how he got there. Details start to emerge when the boy, who calls himself Jacob, recalls that his hometown is Arcadia; and an Immigration agent, Martin Bellamy (Omar Epps), takes him there. The home he claims as his own is occupied by an elderly couple, Harold (Kurtwood Smith) and Lucille Garland (Frances Fisher), who lost their son, Jacob, more than 30 years ago. While they look different, young Jacob recognizes them as his parents.

Those closest to the family try to unravel this impossible mystery, including Sheriff Fred Garland (Matt Craven), whose wife, Barbara, drowned 30 years ago while trying to save Jacob. But this boy who claims to be the deceased Jacob knows secrets about his own death that no one else knows — secrets that Fred’s daughter, Gail (Devin Kelly), will begin to investigate and discover to be true.
