Do you know what happen when a film debuts to $111.8 million world wide on an opening weekend? Well it get’s a sequel. With how many people were clamoring to go see the film (see image above of actual people trying to get in to see the film and not zombie ants) it was clearly going to be a success.
The directer of World War Z constantly saying he wanted it as a trilogy it looks like we may just be on the road that he envisioned as long as profits stay up how they are. While the film is still ab it off on making up it’s $190 million budget as it’s flown past the half way point with no plans on slowing down the studio is confident that it’ll do well which is why it has greenlit the sequel. It probably helped that this was the highest grossing movie Brad Pitt has done to date for an opening.
