zombie-youthI probably shouldn’t be writing this post. There I said it. But I really couldn’t help myself. I’m completely torn about the details of the new pitch acquired by QED International called ’19’. Do I want to see a new zombie movie from the people who brought us ‘District 9′? Hell yes! But do I want it to be ’19’? Well, to be honest…hell no! Let me explain.

What little has been put out about the plot is this – everyone 19 and older turns into a zombie and kids are left in charge. Furthermore, the movie is going to made into a trilogy of books. Sounds great right? A totally fresh on the undead genre?

I agree. That’s probably why it was the central premise of my series Zombie Youth released through Severed Press in 2012.

I don’t know. Do I wish I made something that was good enough to steal? Sure, but I’d much rather get credit and maybe a few dollars. On the other hand is anything really original anymore, especially within the zombie realm? No, not really. We’re all weighed down the heavy responsibility of trying to bring something new into an already flooded market, but I do have to admit that what little is known about ’19’ hits a little too close to home for comfort.

In the meantime while you’re waiting for the ‘Zombie Youth’ movie…oops, I’m sorry I mean ’19’ to be released why not go out and read the book…oops again, I mean my book. Damn you confusing and ambiguous intellectual property laws I’m not even sure which one I wrote anymore!
