Recently it was announced that Michael Cudlitz (Southland) has joined the cast of ‘The Walking Dead’ for this upcoming season and will be portraying Sgt. Abraham Ford. One of the few guys who can give Rick a real run for his money in the comic (sure he’ll have Daryl to contend with in here as well) so it’ll be interesting to see how things play out with him in this season.
When asked why he felt that Michael Cudlitz was such a great fit Kirkman responded:
“Because he is amazing and very much fits the character,†says Kirkman. “Abraham is a larger than life character that comes in and bowls over the characters. He’s just a take charge kind of guy and we need somebody that has that presence, that can stand up to characters like Daryl Dixon and Rick Grimes and really hold his own. This is a guy that can stand shoulder-to-shoulder with Tyreese and be imposing and that’s something that we needed and that’s something that Mr. Cudlitz delivers quite well.
