Epic Games has been developing games for years though there most successful game to date has been ‘Gears of War’ for the X-Box. Now they are returning tot heir PC roots with an upcoming scavenging and zombie fighting game known as ‘Fortnite’.

Using the Unreal Engine 4 the game is set for you to be scavenging during the day and zombie killing at night. Who needs to sleep? It’s been in development since 2011 and it’s co-creator Tim Sweeney recently had this to say about the game at the Develop Conference:

Now we’re building several games at different scales. We’re building Fortnite, a PC online game which is a fun, sort of Minecraft meets Left 4 Dead. It’s a 35-person team. It’s not aiming to beat Call of Duty in terms of graphics. It’s more of a Pixar art style and a limited project in scope, just aimed at fun as opposed to massive breakthroughs in scale

While the ‘dudebros’ were so popular in ‘Gears of Wars’ they aren’t the kind of characters you will be playing in as survivors in a world that is slowly coming to an end. It’s a survival sandbox game that supports co-cop. The game is still set for a 2013 release though no solid release date has been announced yet. Source: GameNGuide.
