Yes one of the most creative minds in the gaming business known for originality wants to make a zombie game. As much as we love them they have flooded the market over the past few years so if Fumito Ueda wants to make one, he’s got to have something extremely interesting in mind!

That’s if I can come up with a well-suited idea, of course. With a zombie motif, in terms of AI and motion technology and the operability of the player character, there are many elements that interest me and that are suited to in-game expression,” Ueda continues. “Especially if there is a way to use [zombies] not just as a convenient enemy for the player to shoot at, but in a way that allows me to express a character in a lyrical way. There are always possibilities.

There are always possibilities.So zombies not as the enemy but in which the way to tell his story? Sounds like a hint of ‘Shadow of the Colossus’ mixed with ‘Ico’. If it were for the zombies alone I would bite but with Ueda’s mind behind the project I really can’t wait to see what he comes out with.
Of course, that’ll have to wait until he gets ‘The Last Guardian’ all figured out.
