With the popularity of ‘The Walking Dead’ it would seem like a good idea for the various aspects of it to have more in common than just the name and some of it’s characters. Earlier in Season 4 we did hear that Michonne had passed through Macon which is where part of the first game plays through. However is that enough? According to Robert Kirkman “That door is always open for us, though whether or not we step through it remains a big question.â€
Well that’s fine and dandy but how likely would this be to actually happen? “I certainly wouldn’t want to spoil anything cool like that if we had it coming up. Scott Gimple, our showrunner, is certainly a huge fan of that game series as well and very familiar with it. That was a little nod to those fans, to let them know that we’re aware of the greater Walking Dead universe. It’s always fun to come up with those little things.”
Well with him being a fan of the games it could lead into something. Will it be anything past some minor Easter Eggs? Could it be a hint of how the spinoff would actually go? There’s no telling yet but fans of the game should be eager to hear that they aren’t being completely ignored when it’s coming to potential small screen translations down the line.
