When you think of zombies the last actor you think of is probably Glenn Close but she is now set to star in the upcoming post-apocalyptic zombie thriller ‘She Who Brings Gifts’. It looks like she decided to branch into our genre favorites after having been a part of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ and as a fan of her work I can’t say I’m going to complain! She’ll be jopining Gemma Arterton, Paddy Cosidine, and newcomer Sennia Nanua in the film which will be directed by COlm McCarthy.
The film takes place a generation after the world has ended. We will be following closely the lives of four adults and a very special child who will end up deciding the fate of humanity. It is an adaptation of M.R. Carey’s ‘The Girl With All Gifts’.
Nanua is a 12 year old with the lead. According to McCarthy, “Sennia walked into the room as the last of 500 girls I’d met and just shone. She has taken being the lead actress in a film with Glenn, Gemma and Paddy in her stride and completely inhabits this amazing character. She’s a very special girl.”
Also in the cast are: Anamaria Marinca (“Fury,†“4 Months, 3 Weeks & 2 Days,†“Europa Reportâ€), Fisayo Akinade (“Cucumber,†“Banana,†“Ordinary Liesâ€), Anthony Welsh (“Starred Up,†“My Brother the Devilâ€) and Dominique Tipper (“DMX,†“Vampire Academy,†“Montana,†“The Expanseâ€).
