Well you can’t see much on the plot from this teaser but you do get to see a few running zombies that look pretty well put together. As in they aren’t falling apart. Yet…. OK that wasn’t funny but the series does look good (and not in a funny way.)

Three friends are caught off guard by a zombie apocalypse and must do what they can to survive in this gruesome nightmare of a world.

So what’s the word on Juan of the Dead hitting the British Isles? Well it looks like it’s going to be released by Metrodome in the UK on June 4th! So our fine friends in the UK be preared for some Cuban zombie goodness coming your way in the near future!

Juan is a typical forty-year-old slacker. One day Havana begins to fill up with zombies. Juan decides that the best way to cope with it is to prosper. “Juan of the dead killed their loved ones” is his slogan, and his mission is to help people get rid of those infected around them … for a price. But the situation gets worse — while everyone is escaping to sea as a means to get away, Juan is left with no choice but to become a hero, staying to defend his country and protect his own on an island that has turned into a real bloodbath.

There isn’t much information on Pro Wrestlers vs. Zombies but thanks to our friends at Horror Society we’re happy to tell you that if you are in Pittsburgh or West Virginia they are looking for cast members!

So what are the details on the film?

Pro Wrestlers vs. Zombies is written and will be directed by Cody Knotts, the man who created Lucifer’s Unholy Desire. It is being produced by Shane Douglas, Cody Knotts, and Camera Chatham Bartolotta. Bartolotta will also be handling the submissions for auditions. By my knowledge, no cast members have officially signed on, besides Shane Douglas, but here is a brief list of potential cast members who have shown interest in the film: Terry Funk (former WWF Tag Team Champion), Larry Zbyszko (former WWF Tag Team Champion), reality tv star Taya Parker, and Scott Levy (WWF/WWE 26 time Hardcore Champion). Other interested parties include Rowdy Roddy Piper (former WWF Intercontinental Champion) and Richard Pryor Jr.

We’ve previously shown you some stills from NOTLD: Resurrection and also the Night of the Living Dead Resurrection Trailer (which I’ve also embedded at the bottom of this post.) Now? The news that this UK version of Night of the Living Dead is getting distribution! In the UK at least but with how it looks I’m sure we’ll be seeing a US release down the line as well! (I hope so at least!)

4Digital Media has acquired the UK distribution rights to Night of the Living Dead: Resurrection. Based on the 1968 horror classic, the story focuses on four generations of a family trapped in a farmhouse in Wales during a zombie apocalypse.

James Plumb directed from a script he co-wrote with producer Andrew Jones. Independent Moving Pictures’ Rob Graham and Manish Patel executive produced. NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD: RESURRECTION will receive a limited theatrical release in select UK cinemas followed by a DVD and VOD release.

North Bank Entertainment’s Andrew Jones and 4Digital Media’s Tony Taglienti made the deal.

Andrew Jones: “We are delighted to be teaming up with 4Digital Media to bring NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD: RESURRECTION to UK audiences. This film is a completely different take on the classic concept so audiences going into this movie expecting a retread of the original film will be surprised by the new twists and turns our story takes. Zombies have penetrated popular culture, and in recent years they have often been used in humorous ways. But we are aiming purely for scares with this film while adding a new level of threat to our main protagonists in order to really ramp up the tension.

A Little Bit Zombie, the film with the most amazing classic horror styled poster that I’ve seen in ages has a couple more promotional videos out. While they’ve been out since last week I apparently missed the e-mail so you can blame me for not seeing this greatness earlier. Talk about a film that’s going to just be purely entertaining if it lives up to all of the trailers and pre-release teasers!

Infected by a virus during his bachelor party, a mild mannered HR manager attempts to fulfill his overwhelming desire for brains and avoid Max, the obsessed Zombie Hunter hot on his trail. All while keeping it together so as not to incur the wrath of his Bridezilla-to-be.

Given how popular AMC’s The Walking Dead has become, it’s no surprise that it would branch out into various forms of merchandising. Think of the series what you will, you can’t deny that it’s become hugely popular. A board game based on the property was inevitable, really. So it is that Cryptozoic Entertainment (most well-known for their Trading Card Game version of World of Warcraft) has brought us this game. But is it worth it? Let’s find out.

Most of the time, you’ll only be using two of the decks of cards: the scrounge deck and the encounter deck. Scrounge cards generally are useful items that help you fight off zombies, while the Encounter cards are, for the most part, zombies that you have to fight off. Combat is simple: You roll the die, if you roll equal to or above the power of the encounter card, you win. Rolling a 6 is always a win. If you fail, then you lose of of your ally tokens. (That is, they got bitten and turned into a walker.) If you have no ally tokens left, then you got bit and turn into a walker. Congratulations. The problem is that most walker cards are have at least a power six or higher. You can increase your odds by using the various weapons you can find in the scrounge pile, which you add to your die roll. But be careful. The encounter deck (and therefore the zombies) get reshuffled when it runs out, but the same is not true of the Scrounge deck, so once those cards have been used, they’re probably gone for good.

Oh, it might be good of me to mention that unless you land on one of the lucky “No Encounter” spaces on the board, you have at least one encounter every turn. It’s possible that you might have two or even three, if you’re really unlucky. At each corner, you always have two encounters before you can claim the token at that corner and move on to the next corner.

That’s the rules in a nutshell. Pretty simple, really. While you’ll definitely want to read to rulebook to get all the finer points of the game, especially about the rules for when somebody turns into a walker, since that’s not as straightforward as it seems at first. The difficulty level is just about right. In every 4-player game I played, we always ran out of scrounge cards, but we had just enough for someone to win the game with only one player having been turned into a walker.

Overall, The Walking Dead Board Game really is a rather simplistic game. In terms of complexity, I’d say it falls somewhere between Candyland and Monopoly. Seriously, if it weren’t for the fact that this is a Walking Dead licensed game with some decently gory pictures on the cards, I’d swear it was a Parker Brothers family game. Now that’s not necessarily a bad thing. I mean I loved those games as a kid and I honestly don’t mind playing most of them if that’s what the rest of the group is up for, but anymore I personally crave games that are a little more complicated.

Bottom Line: Whether or not you’ll like this game really comes down to what kind of a game you’re looking for. If you’re looking for a more hardcore or nerdy, or a more European-style board game, then this really isn’t the game for you. If you want something a bit more casual and simple, something that’s quick to learn, then you’ll definitely want to check it out. Whether or not you like AMC’s The Walking Dead would probably factor in as well.

P.S. one last thing to keep in mind: If you haven’t actually seen the TV show, then some of the cards actually contain spoilers. Not many cards, but there are several that either show someone getting eaten or it shows them in a compromising situation. If you have seen the show, then it’s no big deal, but if you haven’t and you’re the type who hates spoilers, you might want to wait to watch the show before you play the game.

Anyone who knows me knows that I love a great comic book adaptation. Not just blockbuster films like The Avengers or a series like The Walking Dead – but really I love seeing print media turned into a film. So what are we getting this one? A zombie comic (of course, what else would I be writing about here?) We’re going to be seeing “The Zombies that Ate the World” which is about:

Written by Jerry Frissen (Lucha Libre, The Tikitis), and illustrated by Guy Davis (B.P.R.D., The Marquis: Inferno), the two creators collaborate here to pay homage to the zombie genre, giving us a hilarious black comedy that will want you starved for more! Collects the first 4 issues of the DDP/Humanoids comics and features a whole new sketchbook section.

The comic series itself is available from Humanoids and has 2 collections out for it so far. There isn’t much news about the film itself aside from the fact that it’s in the works but Dread Central did say that it will be filming in Canada and will be directed by Erik Canuel (Bon Cop, Bad Cop.)
