New Zombie Comic Key of Z Mini-Series Announced

Fresh from Comic Con we have more great zombie news to share with you! It’s a tale of revenge in a zombie infested post apocalyptic New York that, while there isn’t a LOT of details yet, sounds great! Really a devastated major city is the perfect backdrop for a zombie apocalypse and when you have factions of humans left blowing things up it can only get better!

Key of Z, a brand new mini-series co-written by Sanchez and his wife, Chondra Echert, follows Ewing — a once proud father and holder of a special gift — across a post-zombie-apocalyptic New York City as he seeks revenge on the two warring gangs who murdered his family. Coming from BOOM! Studios this October with interior art from The Amory Wars’ Aaron Kuder, cover art by Nathan Fox, and a variant by The Walking Dead’s Tony Moore, Key Of Z promises to be a visually stunning dramatic tale.

Fanboys vs. Zombies Is Coming

How many times have you watched a zombie film and felt that you could do it better? I would wager your answer, if you are a regular reader at this site, is pretty damn often. The idiot runs out into a horde of the undead, leaves a safe spot when it’s clearly too soon, or picks a horrible hiding spot. There are so many situations where you just groan knowing whats going to happen because, like me, you watch too many zombie films! Goldilocks In Zombie Land Update

We did a previous post with some information on Goldilocks in Zombie Land but now have more details on it for you! It is going to be debuting at the Comicpalooza in Houston Texas on May 27th – May 29th. On top of that the above image is the variant cover that will only be available at Comicpalooza! The cover was created by Sarah French the actress and model whose looks are the basis for Goldilocks and the artwork was done by Jason Dube.

After that everyone will be able to get their grubby little hands on what looks to be a great comic in the works (we’ll have a review coming up soon for you!) After Comicpalooza the comic will go on sale at: Comixpress

Goldilocks In Zombie Land

Thanks to Ross for letting us know about this one! Comic Book Divas is releasing Goldilocks in Zombie Land in May of 2011. Written by Jeff Hughes with artwork by Jason Dube it’s going to be an interesting take on the zomb ie apocalypse. Mixing fairy tale and a ‘horror’ fantasy world it’s a mash up idea in horror that’s been being done in novel form but is only recently being done in comics.

Marvel Zombies 5

Image Comics To Release 68 – A New Zombie Comic

There was a lot going on in 1968: Robert Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr. were assasinated, Vietnam was going on in full force, Night of the Living Dead was released.

Someone out there decided to have a great idea and mix those last 2 into a zombie themed comic that image is putting out. Yes, Image Comics who have given us The Walking Dead are now giving us a series where the zombie apocalypse occurred during the Vietnam war.

It’s going to be a massively messed up series that starts off with a mini-series followed by a few one offs (this is all based off of a single comic they had previously released.) That being said if it is even half as interesting as it sounds that it could be I believe that Image may not only soon have the top zombie series out in comic format – but the top 2.

So I’ve decided to do a zombie humor post. It’s something we haven’t been doing too much as of late and as I have 3 amazing comics to show off it seemed like the perfect little post to do!

The first one showed up above is from this Deviant Art Page and shows the life and times of one of the undead and their 24 hour lifespan!

The second one up though I unfortunately have no idea where it’s from. It was e-mailed in so I unfortunately can’t credit the author.

Finally our last one is from Cyanide and Happiness. It shows exactly how intelligent and caring that our undead friends are.

Ghostbusters Infestation Issue 1 Preview

Out in comic stores… well yesterday! We previously mentioned that IDW’s universe was being infected with zombies so that not only was that happening to G.I. Joe, Star Trek, and the Transformers but to the Ghostbusters as well. Yup our friendly ghostbusters are being attacked by zombies.

Quarantined Official Cover And Press Release

Recently we wrote a post to let you know that the graphic novel Quarantined is finally being released. As I enjoyed the initial preview of Quarantined I’ve been eagerly following the progression of this graphic novel for quite some time. Well to give you a bit of an update on that here is the official cover it will have and a few pieces of useful information straight off of the press release:

Zombies Vs. Robots getting the big screen treatment, possibly renamed to “Inherit The Earth”

Well due to an apparently outstanding script Sony Pictures has purchased the rights to Zombies vs Robots. While on the one hand the money Sony at it will guarantee us a visually entertaining film on the other I’m a bit worried. JT Petty has put together a script of ZvR entitled Inherit The Earth which will be focusing on a young girl who is ‘the last survivor on Earth’ which is filled with zombies. Fortunately she has a group of robots that are trying to protect her.

Now onto the rest of the movie’s production credits and the reason I’m iffy on seeing the final product?

The film will be a co-production between Platinum Dunes, Circle of Confusion and IDW, and produced by Michael Bay, Brad Fuller, Andrew Form, Dave Alpert and Rick Jacobs. Ted Adams is exec producer.

I’m sure you can guess which highlighted name right there gives cause for concern of any kind of a real plot being used in the film. I suppose time will tell.
