Well it looks as if our zombie loving friends in Baltimore, MD are getting ready to have themselves a fun time in October. Halloween does seem to bring out the best in everyone when it comes to horror (and of course zombies) so it’s great to see an increase in zombie themed events happening this year!

I’d like to thank Michael for giving us a heads up on the event and all of this information! Sounds like it’ll be a blast and hopefully some of our readers will be able to make it out and let us know about it!

In Chicago August 12th 2011? Zombie Bash At Flashback Weekend!

The guys over at Chicago Horror always put on a good time when it comes to zombie events, so when they are throwing one for one of Chicago’s premiere horror fests you just know it’s going to end up being a good time! In Nashville Oct 29th 2011? Zombie Buffet 5k

Want to run from zombies for a good cause? (Sure I know most of you would rather be fighting them for a good cause but this is probably the next best thing!

What’s The Event About?

There is no amount of money that ZB5k or any event could raise that would adequately convey our gratitude to the Nashville Rescue Mission for the outstanding work they do for those who have fallen upon hard times in the area, but that won’t stop us from trying. This is why Bloc 434 Productions has set the lofty goal of having the Zombie Buffet 5k raise $100,000 for the Rescue Mission. In order to achieve this goal, we are going to need help from awesome people, like yourself, and some equally awesome sponsors.

The Nashville Rescue Mission does more than provide food, clothing, and shelter for those in need: It helps people rebuild their lives. As if their work wasn’t impressive enough, the Nashville Rescue Mission does all of this without a penny of government assistance, meaning they are completely reliant on donors like you and me. By registering for the Zombie Buffet 5k, you are helping them to continue their work, and you are getting to have a great time while doing it.

So this sounds as if it could be fun. Not only is it a zombie pub crawl but its a THEMED zombie pub crawl. Yes they want a specific type of zombie for this one – clown zombies. What’s more fun than a day at Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom in Allentown, PA? Well, there’s Dorney’s Halloween Haunt in October, obviously — but what if a horde of zombies took over the park in August?

The Philly Zombie Crawl, the New Jersey Zombie Walk and the NYC Zombie Crawl have joined forces to bring you ZOMBIE INVASION OF DORNEY PARK on Thursday August 18, after the park closes to the living. Get a professional undead makeover and roam the park with the other zombies until midnight!

Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom is opening its gates to the undead for ONE NIGHT ONLY!

But make it a day – gates open at 10am for humans, so come early and take full advantage of BOTH Dorney Park and Wild Water Kingdom!

Our Zombie Base Camp (right inside the park’s grounds) will open at 5pm, offering Zombie Makeovers from talented makeup artists for a nominal fee; or you can bring your own supplies and get ready in the Base Camp.

In Asbury Park, NJ on May 28th 2011? Zombie Beach Party

Now this is something I haven’t seen done in Chicago quite yet. Kudos to creativity (and I wonder if we can talk some place in Florida to do this on a Spring Break…)

Of course with our ‘beach’ I’m not sure the turnout would be all that high regardless of the inclusion of so many undead. At any rate if you are in NJ and this is something you’d be interested in we have all of the details below for you!

In celebration of our 2010 Guinness Record achievement as the “Largest Gathering of Zombies in the World” we will be hosting our first ever “Zombie Beach Party” in Asbury Park! On Saturday, May 28th zombies will once again converge on the Asbury Boardwalk as we kickoff the summer beach season and Memorial Day weekend.

This retro themed event will bring beach goers and zombie lovers back in time by invoking the spirit of the classic beach party films of the 1960’s. Beach activities will include games like brain volleyball, legless limbo, intestine-twister, zombie hula contests and more!

The event will also feature an amusement midway – a throwback to Palace Amusements and the games and boardwalk attractions that are part of Asbury Park’s history. Patrons can play traditional carnival games with an undead twist including a zombie dunk tank, a kissing (biting) booth, brain dart toss, and “Aim for the Head.” Players will have a chance to win an assortment of festive zombified prizes.

Where and When is the Zombie Beach Party?

Boardwalk & beach activities begin Saturday, May 28th at noon on Asbury Park boardwalk between 1st and 2nd Ave. (directly in front of The Stone Pony).Wristbands will be available for $10, and will include a beach badge for the day, discounts on all midway games, and special savings at restaurants, bars and food stands down the full length of the boardwalk and throughout the entire city. A small team of professional make-up artists will be on hand from noon until 5pm to give demonstrations and assist in giving complete zombie makeovers for a nominal fee of $15 for airbrushing with an additional $10 for scabs/wounds. Midway games and beachfront activities will operate throughout the day until 5pm for both zombie and human participants.

Zombie Walk Rules and Etiquette

During the Zombie Beach Party, participants must agree to abide by the Rules & Etiquette. These have been put into place to ensure that everyone has a good time, both Zombies and citizens alike. First and foremost, all Zombies must respect the City of Asbury Park and refrain from entering any public premises without permission. Zombies must be mindful of their actions (and make-up) so that they do not smear, stain, cause damage to, destroy or vandalize any person or property. Zombies must not block doorways or impede businesses & homeowners. Zombies must also respect others personal space by refraining from touching anyone who is not participating in the Zombie Beach Party or harassing anyone that wishes to be left alone. Zombies must always stop “attacking” someone when asked to, especially children. Zombies must obey all beach rules, traffic laws, city ordinances and authorities at all times. If asked to disperse, they must do so immediately. There will be absolutely NO alcohol or illegal substances tolerated during the Walk. Small children and pets must be accompanied by an adult.

Guinness Book World Record™ Holder

Guinness World Records™ has officially recognized the New Jersey Zombie Walk as the new holder of the record for the “World’s Largest Gathering of Zombies.” Our 3rd Annual Asbury Park Zombie Walk held on October 30th, 2010 made history as 4,093 zombies shambled across the boardwalk and through the city. Asbury Park and the Zombie Walk made it into the record book and have permanently cemented our status as one of the biggest and best Zombie Walks on Earth!

In Carlton Oregon July 29th-31st 2011? Zombiestock

While the name is reminiscent of a certain concert this isn’t 3 days of music – it’s 3 days of zombies! Not to say that there isn’t going to be music as there is a live concert on the Saturday night of this event. It’s a great event where you can attend as one of the living or one of the undead as there is a huge game of zombies vs survivors that will be going on!

In Nashville, TN on April 23rd 2011? Promocalypse

Another year comes and another year of fun filled zombie events are going on that we’d like to tell you about! This week, and quite literally this week, is the Promocalypse! I honestly wish I had more of a chance to tell you about this one as it sounds like a blast but we didn’t get an e-mail on it this year and it totally slipped my mind until someone commented on last year’s post!

What is the PROMOCALYPSE?

It’s a prom! Dancing, DJs, balloons, streamers, the works. The only difference is that you don’t have to sneak out to the parking lot to drink (as long as you’re 21 & up). Oh, and the zombies. Cities across the world have hosted Zombie Walks, Zombie Crawls, and Zombie Proms. It’s your chance to get creative with makeup and costume to become a zombie for one night, and join the horde of the walking dead to terrorize the living. The fun starts in Nashville’s Cannery Ballroom at 9pm, Saturday April 23rd.

Do I Have To Be A Zombie To Come?

No! Living humans are welcome. If you are a zombie dating a human, or a human dating a zombie, or a human looking for a zombie to complete (and/or eat) you, come and dance the night away! (18+ to party, 21+ to drink, of course.)
