Day by Day Armageddon by: J. L. Bourne
This is an amazingly fast read. I can’t stress enough that if you want a great read on someone trying to survive the zombie outbreak- THIS is a good book.
If you want a Zombie book that tells how someone survives, what motivates them to move on, and will hook you- THIS is a good book.
If you want a book that has short chapters that are captivating and written on a personal level (it’s a journal)- THIS is a good book.
There’s only one problem with this book. The sequel (at the time of this writing) is not yet out. You WILL want this sequel since it’s just that good. Personally the second I see it up for sale I’m preordering it. J. L. Bourne is a master at the written word when it comes to the undead and I can’t stress enough that you need to get THIS novel today.

Beyond Exile is out and it is the follow up to Day by Day Armageddon. I loved the first book and I am 25 pages into the Exile and am totally tranfixed. As most of us know, loving zombie books is not about the death and morbid circumstances but rather what happens when we as a species break down in times of severe stress and fear of the unknown. Bourne, with his military background gives us the ability to understand military discipline and ignorance. What is it that makes the human species survive….calm in the face of atrocity, discipline when none exists and the need for human contact, love and understanding. Read Bourne as he understands and communicates all the frailities and courage that humans need to understand to withstand unthinkable realities.
I haven’t had a chance to read the second one yet even though most of the BZ staff has and everyone seems to be loving it. I cannot WAIT to dig in though.
