Game Review: Pirates vs. Ninjas vs. Zombies vs. Pandas – iPhone

Summary

4/5 – What game fits multiple genres, including your beloved zombies? What game is better than the overplayed Angry Birds that you’ve been hearing about for months and months?  Well here it is, PvNvZvP, for short. Sort of short, that is. I have really not found a better acronym, yet the game is still super fun to play. Reading the iTunes reviews you’ll see that many users claim this is better than others.

Controls

3/5 – While the controls are simple enough, they get a little tricky when objects become small, and you are zoomed out pretty far from the action. Other than that, it’s hilarious to see what special abilities some of these creatures have.

Graphics

3/5 – Again, when things become small they become less descriptive. Also, when zoomed out too far, it is hard to differentiate what items/blocks/walls are unmovable and which will disintegrate with ease.

Sound

4/5 – Between farting and ninja slashes, as well as the destruction of breaking through items and squishing your foes, you’ll enjoy the sound effects of this game.

Story

4/5 – “It is Pirates… it is Ninjas… it is Zombies… it is Pandas and it is full on War!” Not much of a story line past that, but at least you can stray away from slinging your feathery friends across the screen again and again.

Replay Value

5/5 –This is one of those games that will not only take you awhile to complete, but you’ll enjoy playing it again and again. If you like Angry Birds, and you like zombies, pandas, pirates, and/or ninjas — then this is for you.

Pricing

5/5 – At the moment it’s 99 cents in the app store, which is a great price for the many, many hours you’ll devote to love of genre clashing!
