Game Review: Talking Zombo the Zombie – iPhone

The Zombie next door!

Summary

4/5 – I love these talking apps, not because they are fun to play with, but because my friends’ 2-4 year olds walk around with my iPhone and entertain themselves for a half hour, which in turn entertains the rest of us adults. But yes, they are indeed fun to poke & prod, and have them say hilarious things.

Controls

4/5 – You can poke, you can talk, and Zombo reacts!

Graphics

5/5 – I laughed at the cardboard cutouts in the background, especially since they were highly detailed. Zombo has a shadow that moves along with him, and his animations and effects are well done.

Sound

4/5 – Like other apps, Zombo has his own voice when repeating your words back to you. Basically it modifies your pitch and speed to that of a zombie, so your child talking to Zombo will result in a different voice than your own.

Replay Value

4/5 – Like I said, I keep a few of these applications ready, in case a child gets bored and can be easily entertained at their own selves. This is great to add to your collection! Make your friends laugh at their own words.

Pricing

3/5 – At this time, Zombo is 99 cents in the app store. I only rate this down since there are quite a few freebie versions out there, but if you’re okay with spending a buck to fill out your collection, then I would recommend this.
Available at iTunes.
