REVIEW: Zombie Gunship
While in the gunners seat of an AC-130 gunship the calming buzz of the engines is suddenly broken by a voice in your ear.
“You are clear to fire”, it says.
You look into the infrared scope in front of you and scan the valley for movement. It takes you a second but you find some, and it isn’t good. People are running as fast as they can toward the bunker entrance, but from what? You pan your camera until you see them… Zombies!
The hordes of the undead are shambling their way toward the bunker as well…and if you don’t act fast the living won’t be that way for long. That’s the scenario in Limbic Software’s “Zombie Gunship” on the app store for $.99.
Graphics- 4/5
The game is done in the expansive color palate of a thermal imaging system… black and white. Red is also used as well to highlight immediate threats to the bunker. The living people show as white while the zombies show as black.
The graphics are a little grainy but that is a good thing, this game is basically a iPhone version of the AC-130 level from call of duty… With zombies.
Control- 5/5
The controls are simple to use and work great. Tap the fire button in the lower left of the screen to fire (or hold for machine gun fire), drag a finger to aim, tap the upper right to change weapons systems as well as the zoom level to accompany the weapon you are shooting… That’s it!
Sound- 4/5
The humming of the gunships engines is the sound that fills the background while each weapon fires and impacts different. Your crew talks to you and let’s you know important information while you focus on destroying zombie scum.
Replay-ability- 4/5
This game is a good time killer. It loads fast and gets you into the zombie killing action right away. You earn coins to upgrade your weapons systems allowing you to better kill the legions of the undead, which is why people buy zombie games in the first place right?
