This is a list of some of the vendors and artists who were at Zombcon 2011 that really stuck out for me. All of them were friendly and had really interesting things for sale. Check them out below…
Publishers
Permuted Press – Permuted Press was established in 2004 with a modest goal: to produce a single, high-quality zombie anthology titled The Undead. From this simple goal grew a publishing company that has published over 60 titles targeting the apocalyptic, post-apocalyptic, and survival horror fiction markets. Permuted Press has relied heavily on the power of the internet and advances in publishing technology to establish itself as one of the best known publishers in the apocalyptic niche. Permuted has utilized print on demand (POD) technology and grassroots internet marketing to catch and cater to its ever growing fan base.
Rainstorm Press – Rainstorm Press is an independent publishing house that publishes a variety of genres that include horror, dark romance, mystery & thrillers and some erotica. Creator’s Edge – Creator’s Edge Press was born in the back of Comic Evolution by a mix of eight artists, writers, and dreamers. We are you. We are entropy. We are the end result of frustration and exuberance. We are fellow industry people brought together by a will, and a mind, to do something about the lack of outlets for INDEPENDENT comic artists and writers. We are indie.

Artists
Robert Elrod – Robert is a self-taught artist / interactive designer who works with a variety of mediums including pencil, color pencil, ink, watercolor, acrylic and digital. Tickling A Dead Man: Stories About George is his self-published comic book in which he relentlessly tortures his misanthropic title character by forcing him to face his deepest fears and anxieties. His comics also appear within the pages of the “Best New Zombie Tales†series from Books of the Dead Press. He’s contributed pinup art to publications by Bluewater Comics, Creator’s Edge Press, Angry Dog Press and the British Fantasy Society. Robert’s artwork has appeared on the covers of several novels and anthologies from small-press horror publishers.
Toxic Candie – Dan Mendoza just makes some amazing zombie art and his current work, Zombie Tramp, is available!
Chooseomatic Books – Choose your adventure zombie books? Hell yea! – If you disguise yourself as a zombie and try to sneak past the feeding frenzy, turn to page 183. If you grab a tire iron, flip out and get medieval on their undead asses, turn to page 11.

13 Flames – 13 Flames Empire is an independent Comic Book Publisher based in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. 13 Flames Empire’s product line includes comic books, graphic novels, t-shirts, stickers, buttons, art prints featuring ‘Zombie Jesus‘, ‘Champions of Hell‘, and ‘Undead Inbreds‘.
Zombie Acres – Zombie A.C.R.E.S is our own world where Roslun Global has dominated the pharmaceutical landscape; and with that domination comes all the money and power you would expect. All of this was used to try and find a way to stop death… and with success… kinda…
Katie Cord – Voracious, malevolent, crazy, cruel, predatory, relentless… …And those are just the survivors. Inside, you’ll find ten horrifying, touching and humorous stories of strong women whose fates are crossed with those of the undead. (Also her husband Anthony is a great artist and graphic designer)

Zombie Squad – Zombie Squad’s mission is to educate the public about the importance of personal preparedness and community service, to increase its readiness to respond to disasters such as Earthquakes, Floods or Zombie Outbreaks.
Gnombies (trust me on this one…your neighbors will love it) – Zombie Garden Gnomes. I mean really do we need to say ANYTHING else?
Defcon-Z – zombies, Zombies, ZOMBIES, what else do you need to know? More? Think Apocalyptic world in which we have to fight to survive with the undead and one another….Through the lens of my camera.
Zombie Cockblockers – ZombieCB stands for Zombie Cockblockers. Although more dangerous than the everyday cockblock, it is still the same concept. A cockblock as we all know is the act of being interrupted or kept from some sort of sexual activity. A zombie cockblock is this same act however the cockblocking is achieved by a zombie instead of one of your inappropriate friends. Now unfortunately you can’t laugh about a Zombie Cockblock and move on, this cockblock could be the last one you’d ever experience.
Optimystical Studios (Check out the forthcoming interview) – Many people now have Zombie preparedness plans for the Zombie Apocalypse (or Zombie Future), including where to meet, what the most important supplies are and where they will go to wait out the storm, and avoid being nommed by the undead. No Zombie plan is complete without an understanding of what to do if a companion is infected. The ZombAlert© line fills an important roll in this part of the plan; knowing your friends and loved ones preferred way of being dealt with in the unfortunate event they become infected.
