Zombies Go Boom basically test various weapons on a custom setup that show exactly how effective they would truly be if you used them against the undead. The videos are humorous but more importantly they are actually educational as the information is full of valid tests. Of course for Halloween they did have to spice it up a little this year…
Up top we have Jason vs Leatherface vs a horde of zombies with an epic duel between the two at the very end. Down below we have each of these contestants showing off exactly how effective their weapon of choice actually is against the undead!
As we finished watching the following video for the sixth time, a string of profanities flowed forth from our mouths as we tried to figure out how to convey the awesome epicness that is this video.
Lets start with the visual side. For being a low-to-no budget short, the makeup and CG effects are nothing short of genius. No two Zombies look the same and the cut away shots tease of things to come! It is a beautiful thing.
As for the choreography of the fight scenes, some moves are campy (Jason moves like a Ninja in some shots) but good timing and fast action shows that the production crew really put some effort into it, and it pays off with a great little production…
