So, have you checked out the new “Zombieland” pilot on Amazon? (If not, you can stream it for free on Amazon Instant Video here.) As highly anticipated as a TV series based on the comic cult-fave zombie pic was, it seems it didn’t really resonate with fans. Blame recasting the original characters instead of introducing a new group, the relatively low budget, or a perceived lack of the style that made the movie famous — the fans made their displeasure well known, and it may have cost the creators (who happen to be the creative team behind the film) the series. Amazon has decided to pass.
As co-writer/executive producer Rhett Reece tweeted (via Dread Central):
I’ll never understand the vehement hate the pilot received from die-hard Zombieland fans. You guys successfully hated it out of existence.
