Is it possible? Could Plants vs Zombies really have been released on the old school Sega Genesis console? Has some sort of cosmic rift torn the very fabric of time itself allowing for this small bit of amazing to occur? Well, the short answer is yes. You can play Plants vs Zombies on a Sega Genesis, if you still have one. But was it ever officially released for the system. No, this version of Plant vs Zombies is only one of many games that fans have been demaking. What is a demake you ask? It is when a current or favorite game is remade on an older platform using the coding and limitations of those systems.
Now you might wonder why someone would want to bother doing this, but when you search a few of these demakes out it’s actually pretty impressive. The Plants vs Zombies demake actually looks fairly close to the original. Sure the graphics aren’t as clean or colorful, but that’s kind of the point of a demake. Rumors say that you can get your hands on a copy of this game for around $30, but you’ll need a lot of luck finding it and even more getting your Sega Genesis to work. I’m digging mine out of the attic as we speak…
