So, if you’ve read my reviews of Telltale’s brilliant yet dark interpretation of The Walking Dead, you know that I am a big fan. Emotional masochism has never been so fun. Well, we’ve known it for a while now, but it’s finally official: Season 2 is coming out soon! And it’s going to be on pretty much every platform ever, sooner or later. Telltale just released a reveal trailer and several screenshots for your perusal. Now, keep in mind that Telltale is rather tight-lipped when it comes to release info, so when they put stuff like this out, it usually means that they are very close to release. Anywhere from a couple of weeks to a couple of months. I’d say it’s safe that we’ll see it before Christmas. If we’re lucky it’ll be before Thanksgiving. (I’m crossing all my fingers here, and my gaming computer died, so I can’t even play it yet… that’s how excited I am.)

I’m not normally one to buy into hype, but given how much I loved the first season, and given that I’ve heard a lot of people say that their other current game, The Wolf Among Us, is just as amazing as TWD, if not more so, I’m inclined to believe that Telltale has yet to lose their steam.

They haven’t released a ton of info, but they have said that the protagonist this time around will be Clementine, the young girl that you more or less adopted in the previous season. This is kind of a controversial move from the comments I’ve seen online, but if nothing else it should be very interesting to play as the girl you helped “raise”. Especially given how season one ended. (Don’t worry, no spoilers.)

The game is available for pre-order right now either on Steam, for the perks that provides, or at Telltale’s website, which comes with a Collector’s DVD (to be sent after all the episodes are released.) Both are selling it for a 10% discount up till release.

On a related note, Telltale also announced a Game of the Year DVD edition of season one, with the full season (including DLC) as well as other extras. You’ll be able to find it at various retailers, but going to Amazon is just easier.

Oh, yeah… the pictures. Here you go:
